Kia ora!
I have been working in early childhood education for 24 years, I have a Graduate Diploma in ECE and I also have a B.A. majoring in Education and a Diploma in Rehabilitation.
I have worked with both under two’s and over two’s. I understand how important the first few years of a child’s life is and love that I can be a part of this by offering them opportunities and experiences that will allow them to grow and develop.
My interests and hobbies are reading, photography and spending time in my vegie garden. I also love spending time with my family and friends and I have a dog and three cats whom I adore.

Working in two local kindergartens as an administrator and teacher aide since 2004 inspired me to study for my Bachelor of Education degree in 2008. I have worked at Twinkling Stars since 2009.
I am a very proud mum to Erin, a doctor in Masterton, Ben, a landscape architect and Emma, a nurse working in London.
My hobbies include genealogy, making learning resources for young children and reading. I love spending time with my family and friends.
I am passionate about the care and education of young children and believe the warm, loving relationships infants and toddlers experience in their early years affects how they develop trust, confidence and self-esteem to build positive relationships in the future.

Kryllie Xu My name is Kryllie and I am from the northeast of China. I came to New Zealand in 2014 to study in high school. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education in 2019. When I was a student, I interned at Twinkling Stars for a month and got a lot of happiness from the children. I found that I most enjoyed working with infants. Therefore, I start my first full-time job here in 2020. My hobbies are skiing, watching movies and travelling. I will respond to and respect the needs of every child with warmth and thoughtfully build an attachment with them. I believe that early childhood education is to promote children’s ability to solve problems. Therefore I will give the children more time and freedom to solve their own problems and provide appropriate help. |

Kia ora I have been working with young children for many years in various fields and am currently a nanny. I have two grown children and three darling grandchildren. My interests and hobbies include spending time with family and friends, cooking, swimming, dancing, watching movies and traveling. I love working with this infant and toddler age group. Seeing them develop and learn, absorbing everything and their sense of wonder and discovery never ceases to delight me. |
Jessie Chen (Teacher Support)
My name is Jessie and I am from the South of China. I’ve been in New Zealand since 2005.
I started working at Twinkling Stars as a Cook in 2015 and am now in a Teacher Support role in what I feel is a quality childcare environment.
I feel very happy and lucky to be working at Twinkling Stars. There is always something new to learn such as child nutrition, health, well-being and also lots of fun activities to do with the children.
I love working here and I think it’s a good opportunity to do the right thing for the children in our childcare centre.
